Studio Policy

The purpose of  the studio policy is to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and that the studio runs smoothly.

Your lesson time is reserved exclusively for your student. Please plan your calendars in advance and try to keep your child’s lesson times free of appointments and other conflicts.

Regular practice at home is vital for advancement and proficiency.  On-time attendance at the lesson is important.  Please drop off and pick up on time and make sure your child is safely inside before leaving.

No gum, food or drinks are allowed in the studio. Silence all cell phones (students' and parents' phones).

Students are expected to attend lessons for the entire studio year from  September  to June. Lessons are encouraged during the Summer Session.

LESSON MODELS

Lessons are held in-person at the studio or online using FaceTime or Google Duo.  Lesson length is 30 minutes or 60 minutes.

Group lessons are held in person in December, March and June.

Studio recitals are scheduled in December and June and may be inperson or online.

CANCELLATIONS AND MAKE-UP LESSONS

  • There are NO refunds or credits for ANY missed lessons, unless it is a lesson missed by the teacher.
  • To be eligible for a makeup, 24 hours notice is required for cancellation of a lesson.
  • Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and are strictly subject to available openings due to another student canceling their lesson.
  • Available make-up times will be posted on an online signup sheet.  You are responsible to check the signup sheet to reserve a time.  Make-up lessons for 2023-2024 may be taken any time from September 5, 2023  to June 14, 2024 and do not carry over into summer sessions.
  • If your student is unable to attend a group lesson, please email Carol to arrange to attend a different group. Missed group lessons will not be made up.

EXTENDED ABSENCES

If a student will miss several lessons due to a schedule conflict in order to participate in another on-going activity (vacation, sports events, school/church activity, etc.), their lesson time will be held open provided tuition is paid for the absences.

Alternatively you can arrange a mutual swap with another currently enrolled student provided Carol knows of and approves the swap in advance of the lessons. Please keep in mind that siblings may swap with siblings.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

The studio is open even in the event of inclement weather due to snow/ice/school closure.

If you are unable to make it to your in person lesson, you may have an online lesson instead.

Contact Carol (email: clmccallum@msn.com) BEFORE your lesson starts to arrange an online lesson.
